My name is Shawn and I have been quilting since 2011. I live in Michigan. I am married to the best husband, named Andrew. Since he retired last year, I have since hired him as my finance/business manager. It works out great. We have six children and five grandchildren.

I wanted to learn how to quilt so I could make my oldest daughter, a photo quilt for graduation. The thing was, I didn’t even know how to sew; never used a sewing machine in my life. But I did know how to use a camera. So my journey began. I asked my grandma if she could teach me. I learned how to sew and quilt in the same day. Grandma taught me how to make an Irish Chain. I finished the top on the first day (but sadly, I have yet to finish it).

All these years later, quilting has turned into a passion like no other. I have made all six of my kid’s graduation quilts and those have been the only quilts I have ever paid to have quilted. I now have my own longarm and have turned my passion into a business.
